A Ford Mustang from his private collection can now be bought from a German classic car dealer.

Oregon / Mettmann - There is a very special car in the vehicle collection of a car enthusiast from North Rhine-Westphalia.

Michael Fröhlich bought the former private car of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen, who died in 1980, and shipped it to Germany.

The Ford Mustang Fastback (built in 1969) is now in Mettmann near Düsseldorf, where it is being prepared for an auction.

As the vehicle documents from the US state of Oregon would show, McQueen ("The Magnificent Seven", "Papillon") is registered as the first owner of the US sports coupé.

The vehicle was then owned by the family the entire time, and an acquaintance of the German dealer finally acquired the Mustang Fastback from his widow Barbara McQueen.

Photo material from back then also shows that it is the famous US actor's car.

He died of cancer at the age of 50 during an operation in Mexico.
