The return of the Copa Libertadores left an actor in the center of the scene.

And it is not about a scorer who broke Messi nets in the Copa América or a goalkeeper who showed off in the Draw Martinez style.

The great protagonist in the night copera was none other than the VAR.

In Argentina the controversy of the goal annulled to Boca exploded in the match against Atlético Mineiro. The situation was a scandal wherever you look at it: Nacho Fernández who refused to get out of the way when the referee Rojas asked him to play. "

There was no signal from the VAR and the play had to be reviewed

," argued the former River. This situation lasted six minutes until the VAR called the Colombian and went to see the screens. Then something unprecedented happened: all the players accompanied the referee to the monitor and gave their opinion about what happened until Rojas decided to annul the goal. What did you see? Hard to know. He appears to have been fouled by a light touch from Briasco on the back of a defender. The decision made the xeneize world explode.

A while earlier, in Asunción, Paraguay, another page was written in the Video Assistant Referee's book of embarrassments.

And on this occasion, the team that benefited was Fluminense, another Brazilian, who was visiting Cerro Porteño.

At 40 minutes, when the match at La Olla stadium was tied 0-0, Argentine Mauro Boselli opened the scoring, but the goal was disallowed.

It all started with a center from Aquino's left that Mateus Goncalves headed and was left to the former Boca and Estudiantes player, who put the score 1 to 0. Assistant Julio Fernández marked an advanced position and the play began to be analyzed from the booth of the VAR where the Argentine Facundo Tello was with the Chileans César Deishler and Eduardo Gamboa.

Finally, they charged offside, but the situation was more than eloquent.

When they analyzed the play,

the VAR managers narrowed the box and left out the player Samuel Xavier

who enabled everyone from the right side of Fluminense. And so, the goal of number 9 of the Paraguayan team was void.

The dialogues that emerge from the VAR booth are hilarious.

First,

one of the video assistant referees yells loudly: "Offside

.

"

Then you hear: "First we are going to review a possible hand."

And it continues: "

Move on, everything is enabled

."

That happens because, when they go back to see the offside, one of the Chileans asks: "

A close up of the ball

."

Then, there the picture shrinks and that is when Samuel Xavier, the player who enabled, is out of peripheral vision.

After two minutes of disorderly dialogue, the VAR sentences: "Offside".

The situation hurt the Paraguayans who, after failing to go 1-0 due to a referee error, ended up losing 2-0.

It is clear that it was a night to be forgotten for the defenders of the Video Assitant Referee.
