Daraa Shoes Factory produced 2,500 pairs of shoes in the first half of this year.
Engineer Imad Al-Rifai, director of the factory, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the factory produces daily through only nine workers 70 pairs of military shoes in the face-stitching stage, and the stitching is completed entirely within the shoe factory in Sweida to provide those who want the required quality.
He added that the factory suffers from production difficulties such as a shortage of manpower and annealing machines, where the number of workers is 23, including 9 production workers, in addition to only 14 sewing machines, including leather shears, pointing to the opening of an outlet for sale at competitive prices and various models for boys, men and women this year produced by public shoe factories. In the governorates, the factory also signed contracts with some public sector institutions in the governorate to secure high-quality labor shoes at competitive prices, in a way that relieves workers the trouble of traveling to other governorates.
The Daraa shoes factory returned to work in March of last year in a temporary headquarters within the construction of the Macaroni Company, after stopping for about 7 years as a result of the destruction of the factory and the looting of its entire machinery at the hands of terrorist groups.
