"Don't look at the right column of the menu" is an expression to imply that someone
doesn't get in trouble for money.
In the menu of any bar or restaurant, the dishes are on the left side of the page and on the opposite end, the prices.
The person who "does not look at the right column" may not do so because he enjoys a sufficiently comfortable economic situation or because he is unscrupulous or distracted.
The latter seems to be the case of a woman from the city of La Plata who generated an
unusual concentration of delivery men
at the door of her home, including a patrolman.
The starting point of the striking episode was an order placed through a delivery platform to
McDonalds.
The client identified herself as "Renata" and chose to pay in cash when receiving the combos at her home, located on avenida 19, between streets 49 and 50, of La Plata,
around the Malvinas Argentinas square.
The woman asked the deliveryman of Orders Now, through the application's messaging, to remind her how much was the amount she had to pay, to take it to the front door from her house, a house-type apartment in horizontal property of those with a long corridor towards the end.
Then he came across the news that the bill amounted to $ 4,000.
Moments later, when the young man arrived at the place, she told him at the door to wait for him because he had left with less money than necessary and had to go look for him.
And he entered, taking the package with the order.
Two hours later,
the boy was still there with his motorcycle, his red backpack and no response to rings and calls seeking to collect what he had brought.
Concentration of delivery men at the door of the house of a woman who ran away without paying, in La Plata.
The only thing she received was a message from "Renata" telling her
that she only had half of the $ 4,000
, but she did not come out again.
"It was about six or eight hamburgers with potatoes and soda," the delivery man later said.
He also said that he later learned that it was not the first time the woman carried out a similar scam.
While no one responded or appeared, what did emerge was the solidarity of his delivery partners.
Right off the bat, the place became a riot of delivery men on small-displacement motorcycles or bicycles, eager to find the scammer.
The young man also called the police.
The delivery men gathered first at the door leading to the hallway of the PH, demanding
with shouts and honks
that the woman should come out to pay.
Later they managed to enter and began to go door-to-door in search of the scammer.
"When my partner got to the door, the woman asked him by message what was the amount of the order and he literally ran away," described one of the colleagues from the scammed delivery to the newspaper
El Día
de La Plata.
At the same time that they were trying by their means to make the payment, the delivery men
cut traffic on 19 avenue
, one of the main
avenues
in La Plata, in a demand that the authorities make sure that "Renata" did not get away with it.
The cut took place on the night of last Friday.
The order had been placed around 7 p.m.
Personnel from the Police Patrol Command, from the 4th Police Station of La Plata and from the Municipality's Citizen Control had to approach.
However, as confirmed by police sources,
"the woman could not be located"
in any of the departments, for which the payment was not made, although the fraud complaint was filed.
