A new phenomenon of the corona pandemic and the vaccination campaign is revealed in Spain.

Over time, however, the value that is supposed to illustrate the percentage of infected people in the total population has lost its horror.
Like so much that is part of everyday life and thus becomes part of normality.
But what the Spanish newspaper
El Pais
reports is no longer normal.
The incidence among adolescents and mid-twenties has exceeded the 1000 mark.
This is presumably related to the low vaccination rate in this age group and their increasing interactions.

Two regions are particularly affected.
The cumulative incidence for Catalonia in the northeast and Castile y Leon west of the capital Madrid is given as 2400 in relation to young people.
In the mid-twenties it is even 3000 - so three percent of this age group would have tested positive for Corona.
In order to counteract this, stricter restrictions are being taken again.
Even curfews - at least overnight - do not seem to be completely ruled out.

Corona increase in Spain: incidence across the country is already over 400
In some regions the general incidence, which in Spain is based on 14 days, is already in four digits.
Only one area fell below the 100 mark on July 13th.
For the whole country, the 14-day value is given as 405 - more than twice as high as in Germany during the winter.
More than 190,000 cases were counted within two weeks.
Unfortunately, the trend does not promise a quick improvement.
Because the infection rate is at a level like in February, when the incidence had risen to 900.
The Ministry of Health now wants to take countermeasures and make self-tests freely accessible to everyone.
Until now, these were only allowed to be issued on prescription.

Corona increase in Spain: the number of clinic patients with Covid-19 almost doubles within a week
Due to the young average age, many courses of infection are mild and also asymptomatic.
However, the number of seriously ill people is also increasing dramatically.
By Tuesday (July 13), 4,183 people with Covid 19 disease had been admitted to clinics.
This corresponds to a capacity utilization of 3.5 percent of the hospital beds - sounds little, but means an increase of 47 percent compared to the previous week.
749 patients with Covid-19 are in intensive care units.
They occupy 6.7 percent of the intensive care beds, an increase of 21 percent within a week.
The first measures in the facilities have already been taken.
According to
El Pais
, some hospitals are
currently not allowing family visits and operations are being postponed.
The Robert Koch Institute only classified Spain, including the Balearic Islands and the Canaries, as a risk area on Sunday (July 11th). If you are staying in Germany, you are required to quarantine for ten days after you return to Germany. This can only be circumvented with a convalescence, a vaccination certificate or a negative corona test.
