This Wednesday, the Smithsonian Institution announced the record donation from the wealthy founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, aspiring astronaut Jeff Bezos.
The newly retired businessman will offer $ 200 million to this iconic American museum complex.
Of this record donation, 70 million will contribute to the renovation of the National Air and Space Museum.
An announcement that comes at the right time, since Jeff Bezos, present in the space tourism market with Blue Origin, will fly into space aboard a rocket developed by his company on July 20.

The famous Washington cultural institution founded in 1846 manages museums, research centers and a zoo, among other things.
It prides itself on being the largest museum, education and research complex in the world.

“The Smithsonian plays a vital role in igniting the imaginations of our future builders and dreamers,” said Jeff Bezos.
Before adding: “Every child is born with great potential, and it is inspiration that unlocks this potential.
My love affair with science, invention and space has done this for me, and I hope this gift will do it for others.
