Emmanuel Macron reviews the troops
At 10 a.m., Emmanuel Macron got into the command bus to review the troops on the Champs Elysees in the company of the Chief of Staff of the Armies, General François Lecointre.
The latter announced that he would leave active service after four years at the head of the armed forces.
He will bid farewell to arms on July 21, before General Thierry Burkhard succeeds him.
The public settles down on the Champs-Elysées
A little over an hour before the start of the parade, which is due to start precisely at 10:34 am, the public begins to settle down along the barriers deployed around the avenue.
If they are armed with umbrellas, these spectators must also wear the mask and be able to present their health pass.
A measure required and announced Tuesday by the Paris police headquarters.
This year, the parade takes on color: after a 2020 version in a reduced format, 5,000 participants, 200 horses from the Republican Guard, 221 vehicles, 73 planes… are back on the most beautiful avenue in the world.

Reaper drones, to secure the parade
He will discreetly secure the military parade this Wednesday on the Champs Elysées after having flown 400 km from his home base in Cognac (Charentes).
As with every major event, the Air and Space Force deploys one of the 12 Reaper drones of the 33rd Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Attack Wing (33rd ESRA).
These devices are operated by two pilots closest to the action.
We went to report in the air base 709 of Cognac which houses these specialized squadrons.
