More than 100 undocumented immigrants were found in several safe houses and hotels in a span of five days in Laredo, Texas, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported Tuesday.
The first incident occurred on the afternoon of July 8 when border agents
received information about numerous illegal immigrants staying in a hotel
.
Agents detained 25 people from the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Mexico, CBP said in a bulletin.

The first safe house was discovered on the afternoon of July 9 by border agents in conjunction with the Laredo Police Department (LPD) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS
).
The agents detained 40 illegal immigrants from Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras, including two unaccompanied minors.

The next day, border agents and the Webb County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at another hotel, where
13 illegal immigrants from Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras were detained, including an unaccompanied child.
On the morning of July 11, the DPS requested assistance from the federal agency in a third hotel where six undocumented immigrants from Mexico and El Salvador were staying, who were taken into custody.

The last safe house was discovered when the LPD requested assistance from border agents on the morning of July 12.
Almost 30 illegal immigrants from Mexico, including two minors, were detained.

Photographs released by CBP show small groups of immigrants sitting on hotel beds - most of them masks - as well as large groups sitting on the floors inside and outside of buildings.
