Passers-by discovered the body on a bike and footpath near the University of Bayreuth.
The perpetrator, who, according to the police, attacked the young man in the dark with a knife, has not yet been captured, despite intensive investigations.
The mysterious murder case will therefore be shown for the second time this Wednesday (July 14) in the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY .. unsolved” - with an update on the latest investigations by the “Soko Radweg”, which was founded especially for the case.

Around 200 clues were received, said a police spokesman.

According to the police and ZDF, a shorter update on the case is to be shown on the broadcast this Wednesday evening.
In addition, the unusual investigative measure of the police, which had attracted national attention, is discussed: the investigators are looking for witnesses using a poster with the photo of the 24-year-old and the inscription "Who murdered me here?"

The investigators stated that the 24-year-old was killed with "an absolute will to kill". A criminal police profiler created two possible perpetrator profiles: It is therefore conceivable that the perpetrator acted in the context of a “psychological abnormality” or implemented a killing fantasy with the act. The probably male and local perpetrator had apparently chosen "a victim who could be exchanged for him".
A broken head of an elderly locksmith's hammer was also found at the scene.
A connection with the crime is not clearly clarified, it is said on the part of the police.
The investigators hope to get clues about the subject from the ZDF television program "Aktenzeichen XY .. unsolved", which begins at 8:15 pm.
