Elementary and middle school students expect transparency and airiness from the school year after next.

On this morning, Kleebauer for the first time also gets a direct impression of where the millions will flow since the market town decided to create a new place to stay for elementary and middle school.

Mayor Michael Stolze visits here, on the area of the former Jahnsportplatz, almost every day.
And, as he says, “he is always surprised at how quickly a building can change from one day to the next when so many precast concrete parts are processed”.

Ventilation the natural way
What is also noticeable: the new school building will one day be as transparent as possible. The concept is to bring as much light as possible into the rooms from outside. This is also how the atriums are to be understood, which will also play an important role in the ventilation of the classrooms and function rooms. A current topic: Essentially, natural ventilation is used, says Stolze with a view to the current discussions about the installation of air purification technology. As far as the new building is concerned, the technical prerequisites, keyword cabling, will in any case be created beforehand in order to be at the cutting edge of technology; also in terms of ventilation.
We continue via the staircase to the first floor of building A, which will soon house parts of the primary school.
One immediately notices a very long corridor that leads from the future elementary school to the middle school.
"The line of sight is intentional," explains Daniela Schmidtke.
The planners have made it a point to visually link the two schools inside, even if they will later remain two independent schools.
Great view of the surrounding buildings
The second floor offers a fantastic view of numerous well-known buildings in the market town: the water tower is immediately recognizable, the parish church, the high-rise buildings at the train station, the die-casting plant.
You can also make out parts of Ottenhofen.
As far as the timing is concerned, things are looking good at the moment.
It is said that the shell construction is three weeks in the plus.
After all, the official topping-out ceremony is due in a few days, before the big holidays.
It will be an internal celebration, also because of Corona.
Meanwhile, the town hall has long been dealing with the next steps.
