Homs-Sana
Poems, literary thoughts, short stories and a critical dialogue included in the first activities of the “Al-Assi Literary” Forum, as part of a meeting hosted by the Writers Union branch in Homs, in the presence of intellectuals in the field of theater, art and literature in the city of Ibn Al-Walid.
The meeting began with the poet Hana Yazbek with a bouquet of patriotic and lyrical poems filled with expressions of love, including her poem “A dream like a sea wave” in which she addresses the jasmine capital Damascus, whose glories tell the greatness of a people as long as they achieved victories.
Poet Suleiman Al-Hassan recited poems of various styles and descriptions in a smooth language and transversal weights that reflected his poetic experience, which he collected in his first book, "The Language of Jasmine", and chose poems from them to meet with the titles "Satire for a Neighbor", "I speak to her" and "The Dazzling".
The storyteller Hanadi Abu Hanoud shared a set of literary thoughts that were characterized by the abundance of images and style.
The meeting was concluded by the engineer, writer and critic Ratib Idris with a critical study entitled “The Kinetics of Form in Poetry,” in which he presented a brief reading of the poetic texture and its most important ills in the Arabic poem, pointing out that poetry suffers from form when methods are repeated and flatten out of weak meanings, resulting in poetry that does not stick to memory.
The forum, which was launched at the initiative of the writer “Omaima Ibrahim”, head of the Writers Union in Homs, seeks to continue a series of monthly activities that will advance the literary reality.
