Kabul - Sana
Today, the Taliban announced its control of a major crossing with Pakistan and its headquarters in Spin Boldak region, linking the Afghan Wush with the Pakistani Shaman.
The movement’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a tweet: “A large number of weapons and vehicles were seized,” while eyewitnesses confirmed the fall of the border point in the hands of the movement’s gunmen and raising its flag on it, followed by the Pakistani side’s decision to close and suspend all activities on the opposite side of the border and call in additional forces.
Since the US President announced the evacuation of all US forces from Afghanistan by next September 11, tens of thousands of civilians have been displaced amid the escalation of fighting that followed the US announcement, and since then the Taliban have claimed to have taken control of nearly 200 districts.
Last week, the movement said it had captured two strategic border crossings just days after a hasty departure of US combat forces from the country.
