The electric car manufacturer Tesla has prevailed in court.

An urgent application by nature conservationists against the building permit for the new plant near Berlin has been rejected.

Berlin / Grünheide - The Naturschutzbund and the Green League Brandenburg have failed again with an urgent application against early approval for the construction of the factory of the US electric car company Tesla in Grünheide near Berlin.

On Wednesday, the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court rejected a complaint by the environmental associations against a decision of the Administrative Court in Frankfurt (Oder) from June (OVG 11 S 78/21). This enables Tesla to test systems and units in the foundry, paint shop and body shop, and to build and use tanks for rinsing and test purposes. The "Tagesspiegel" had previously reported on it.

The OVG confirmed the decision of the administrative court, which had rejected the urgent application against the early admission. The environmental associations had not asserted that, because of the tests that were then possible, incidents that were not adequately taken into account or other adverse effects on the environment had to be expected. The urgent application was also inadmissible because the associations had not submitted that the decision in their area of responsibility - the protection of nature and the environment - affected them. Tesla lacks final environmental approval to build the factory. The company is therefore building through several early approvals. dpa
