Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's office said President Jair Bolsonaro has been taken to hospital for tests where doctors will decide whether he will need to undergo emergency surgery after suffering from an intestinal blockage.
In a statement reported by Reuters, the presidential office said the president was having difficulty speaking, which was confirmed by Flavio Bolsonaro, the president's son and federal senator, who said his father needed surgery.
It is noteworthy that Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen during a political rally in 2018, which has required him to undergo a number of surgeries since then.
