The season starts in the mountain huts.

It is still relatively quiet, but most of the hosts still draw a positive interim balance.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- Last season was not easy for the hut keepers.

So they are all the more looking forward to this summer.

So far it has been quite quiet on the "Stie-Alm" on Brauneck, reports hostess Marianne Obermüller.

Basically, June is usually a relatively quiet month on the mountain.

“It doesn't really start until the summer holidays.” But you can already tell that people are happy to get back into nature.

"You just want to take a deep breath."

Overnight stays are also possible again - for those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered, and those who have been tested

All people would stick to the rules, "it has worked well".

Distance, mask, registration - "it makes it a lot easier for us when everyone is understanding and conscientious".

Overnight stays at the "Stie-Alm" are also possible again if you have been vaccinated, tested or recovered.

Michaela Durach, landlady of the Lenggrieser Hütte am Seekar, is very satisfied with the day-to-day business.

“There's already something going on, it was great on the weekends.” She is also satisfied with the overnight stays.

Everyone would have their FFP2 masks with them.

“In general, you can tell that people are pushing outside.” Nobody wants to sit inside.

“They prefer to be outside even when it's drizzling.” When the hut was recently renovated, the necessary clearances were consciously observed.

“If everything stays as it is now, then we are satisfied,” says Durach.

Some guests from other federal states wonder about the FFP2 mask requirement

Georg Glaßner has already greeted quite a few holidaymakers at the "Tölzer Hütte" on the Brauneck.

"It starts now." Especially when the weather is nice, many visitors are there.

Most would be cooperative.

There were only a few discussions with visitors from Saxony.

Because there is no FFP2 mask requirement for outdoor businesses.

Some just had “a normal mask” with them, reports Glaßner.

"But most of them already keep the rules."

So far everything has gone well, but currently even less busy than last year, report Marile Jungkunz and Josef Hörmann from the Jocheralm.

"We are pretty sure that this is due to the inconsistent weather conditions." If it is too warm, the guests prefer to go swimming and if thunderstorms are announced every day, they would be afraid and stay at home.

“We can't complain, but a few nice days wouldn't hurt.” Because the start was also rather restricted due to the snow and cold.

Some hikers do not have a mask with them

On nice weekends all hell is still going on, during the week you would notice that more people are going on vacation again. Once the summer holidays begin across Germany, “I'm pretty sure that there will be more going on during the week”. Guests would still have to register and wear a mask. "Unfortunately, we are still discussing a lot because many people don't want to wear a mask on the terrace or don't see it or simply don't have one with them on the mountain." To a certain extent, the hosts understand this. "Hundreds of people are sitting in a heap at the summit and with us they need a mask in the open air." But they would not have made the regulations, if they were not adhered to, the innkeepers would have to pay the fine. But she wants to emphasize much morehow nice and nice most of the guests are. “Every second person tells us how happy they are that it is open again and that it is so beautiful here. I think many people have become more grateful for little things. "

Less operation than in pre-Corona times

Thomas Jauernig, host of the Tutzinger Hütte, is basically satisfied with the popularity so far.

“We are of course very dependent on the weather, which is why the thunderstorms have often thwarted our plans recently.” If the weather is stable, then at least the weekends are quite good.

"But it is even less than before." However, the two pre-Corona summers also had very stable weather.

You have a good hygiene concept that is clear to almost all guests.

"For example, each room has its own washbasin, we have one-way traffic control." Most would understand.

“Of course somebody forgets his mask, then we have one there.

That works very well. "

Long-distance hikers are increasingly coming in July

Not as many guests stay overnight as before, but the occupancy rate is good.

“Our advantage is that we have a lot of small rooms.” In addition, there has been a relaxation for the overnight stay in the camp, so that theoretically three households could now share a camp - provided that sufficient distance can be maintained.

“Most of them don't want that yet.

Many ask whether they are already alone in the room. "

In June it was quieter, in July the long-distance hikers traditionally come.

“The weekends are well booked.” Jauernig hopes that there may be further easing.

“But we are on the whole satisfied, everything else will work out.

We make the best of it. "
