The interministerial committee of secularism on track

The Prime Minister installed this new structure on Thursday which supplants the Observatory of secularism, dissolved last month.


While the bill confirming respect for the principles of the Republic - known as the "law against separatism" - must be definitively adopted on July 22 in the National Assembly, the executive set up on Thursday morning the interministerial committee of secularism, under the authority of the prime minister. This new structure, born from the controversial dissolution of the Observatory of Secularism last month, must equip the public authorities with new tools and allow the implementation of the measures of the law against separatism, wanted by Emmanuel Macron. Jean Castex and seven members of the government - including Marlène Schiappa (Citizenship), Jean-Michel Blanquer (National Education), Amélie de Montchalin (Civil service) and Olivier Véran (Health)
