Anyone who has been on Münchner Strasse in Starnberg in the past few days may have been stuck in traffic from time to time.

The building authority calls the work “unavoidable”.

Starnberg - The way to Starnberg from the east bank and from the direction of the autobahn is currently difficult - during the day traffic backs up to Buchhof due to the construction sites on Münchner Strasse on the A 952.

The reason is that on Münchner Straße (B 2) one lane into the city is temporarily closed.

The announced work has not even started with a trace less.

Construction work is currently ongoing and will continue until Saturday on the north side of Münchner Straße between Moosstraße and Gautinger Straße, which has been in progress for a long time and has been announced accordingly by the Weilheim State Building Authority.

Because of the construction sites, the lanes into town are narrower, but there are still two.

However, not continuously: Currently one lane is temporarily closed because, among other things, the road drainage is being built.

Building authority: work on Münchner Straße so far only between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.

Raphael Zuber, who is responsible for the B 2 tunnel at the State Building Authority and therefore also for the northern approach to Münchner Strasse, calls it “unavoidable”.

To reduce disabilities, this work would only be carried out between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. - outside of rush hour traffic.

That still has an impact.

Some drivers were stuck in a traffic jam for a long time on Monday afternoon, which extended to the A 952 and through Percha towards the mountain to the church.

The State Building Authority still regards the traffic jam on the autobahn as manageable, which seems understandable: in normal afternoon rush hour traffic, it is often just as long.

According to Zubers, complaints are also not known to the authority.

B2 in Starnberg: As of Sunday, the loss of one lane will become permanent

Starting on Sunday, the loss of a lane into the city on Münchner Straße will be permanent for around four weeks.

As reported, divisions, sidewalks and other works are then pending on the south side of the B 2.

Because of the limited space, one lane is closed, there is then only one left in the city, the two remain out of the city.

This traffic management, which also makes it impossible to turn left onto Uhdestrasse, is to apply until August 13th.

Then you can expect continuous backlogs on the motorway and to Percha.

No diversion, but an alternative route is offered

Zuber assumes that the traffic will level off after a few days, as is often the case with such closures.

There is no real diversion.

But an alternative route: from the B 2 over the piercing of Petersbrunner Strasse to Gautinger Strasse and from there back onto the federal road.

That could be faster than getting stuck in a traffic jam, even if the traffic lights at the intersection of Petersbrunner Straße / Gautinger Straße / Leutstettener Straße will cause stops and waiting times on this route as well.

The state building authority wants to significantly expand the evidence of the closure from Monday.

There should be LED notices in the mountains and already on the highway.

The police advise to bypass Starnberg if possible.

If you come from Munich, for example, you can also take the A 96, the Oberbrunn / Unterbrunn bypass and finally the western bypass in the direction of Weilheim.
