Two young women, aged 23 and 24, made false statements in favor of a defendant at a main hearing at the district court in Weilheim, as well as at the subsequent appeal to the Munich II district court.
For this they had to answer again before the Weilheim district court.
Weilheim
- The two young women made a full confession and showed remorse.
According to chairwoman judge Karin Beuting, this spoke clearly in her favor, as Beuting explained.
“A false statement is no small matter.
Usually there is a prison sentence for it. "
In the event of a dispute in a social facility, the opponent's hand is caught in the door
The defendants, who witnessed an incident in August 2019 in which two other women had a quarrel in the shared social facility, testified in favor of the attacker friend.
This had trapped her opponent's hand in the door.
Defendants glossed over events to help girlfriend
The two defendants glossed over the event to help their friend.
A fatal mistake, as it later turned out, because the guilt of the attacker could be proven.
"Even the judge in the first hearing did not believe you and asked you several times whether what you were saying was true," said Beuting.
The two women got more and more entangled in their lies.
Also remained on appeal in the event of false testimony
They also stuck to their false testimony on appeal.
"Once the train derails, you're in a dilemma," said one defender.
The two defendants had just reached the age at which they must be sentenced under adult criminal law.
"So I expect that as an adult you turn on your brain," said Judge Beuting.
The defense attorneys reported on the difficult psychological and economic circumstances of the young women at the time and emphasized that both clients are now in stable circumstances, are currently doing an apprenticeship and are showing remorse.
Full confession saves women from prison
“You made the wrong decision back then.
But I can see that you are on the right track, ”said Beuting.
The full confession, which also meant that the whole case did not have to be reopened, saved the women from imprisonment, said Beuting.
She sentenced the women to a fine of 2,700 euros (180 daily rates of 15 euros each) and 1,800 euros (180 daily rates of ten euros each).
