If everything goes according to plan, the new Murnau BRK rescue station at the accident clinic can go into operation in mid-2023.

The district association has meanwhile secured the property with a notarial leasehold agreement.

Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2022.

Murnau

- Almost 2000 square meters on Kocheler Strasse opposite the helicopter landing pad, right next to the accident clinic: From the point of view of the district association of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), this can be built on - in two respects. “There is no better space, that's an ideal solution,” says press spokesman Jörg Jovy. “The ambulance is the hospital's natural partner.” In Murnau, both should be found side by side in not too long. The BRK will outsource the rescue station, in which the full-time staff work, from the Clostermann house on Seidlstrasse, which offers far too little space and needs renovation, and will accommodate them in a new building at the UKM. The BRK is thus solving one of its pressing problems.

Murnau BRK rescue station: A common blue light campus with the fire brigade was also considered

The property, a very narrow, elongated area between Kocheler and Prof.-Küntscher-Straße, has meanwhile been secured by a notary public on the basis of building rights.

The house that still stands on it will be demolished.

Accident clinic managing director Sarah Heinze had brought the area into play and thus helped the BRK to achieve a decisive breakthrough in the difficult search for a location;

Among other things, the district association had also thought about a common blue light campus with the Murnau fire brigade, which needed a new tool shed, but had been waiting for implementation for a long time with decreasing patience.

New rescue station: the building application should be submitted after the summer vacation

Concrete planning is now under way at the BRK.

Jovy hopes - and is "in good spirits" - that the BRK will be able to submit the building application to the market town of Murnau after the summer holidays and that this will be approved this year.

The starting shot for the new building should be given in spring 2022.

If everything goes like clockwork, it would be possible that the million project - the district association assumes that it will have to raise an amount in the lower seven-digit euro range - will be completed in mid-2023.

Compact main building and seven garages in one line

According to the current state of planning, a compact main building with two full floors plus attic and basement is planned, which will have all the necessary functional and other rooms.

Small housing options are provided for employees or for people doing their federal voluntary service.

In addition, there are a total of seven sufficiently large garages that connect to the house on two sides;

There is also an acute shortage of these on Seidlstrasse.

In total, this creates a long development over 47.50 meters.

BRK in Murnau: Clostermann House is being renovated after the guard has moved out

Once the new building is in place, it continues at the old location.

According to Jovys, the around 50-year-old Clostermann house, in which the volunteers - including BRK readiness and mountain rescue services - are to stay, urgently needs a (also energetic) renovation.

“To do this, we have to wait until the station is empty.” The BRK district association also has to shoulder the costs of this project.

According to Jovy's assessment, they should be “in any case six digits”.
