“One Hundred Years of the League of Nations Decision to Place Palestine under the British Mandate” is the title of the symposium organized by the Al-Quds International Foundation in Al-Assad’s Library today. The participants focused on the role played by the League of Nations in authorizing Britain’s colonization of Palestine and the establishment of the Zionist project.

Dr. Saber Falhout, a member of the Central Committee of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, highlighted the measures taken by the League of Nations and its support for global Zionism and the Zionist project called “Israel” in an affirmation that both groups are enemies of humanity and Arab issues and a real supporter of the Zionist enemy, considering that there is no solution to the Palestinian cause except through confrontation and resistance.

Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation, reviewed the contradictions that the Mandate deed imposed by the League of Nations and the attempt to legitimize, and said: It was not a mandate as much as it was placing Britain’s hand on Palestine in order to prepare the ground for bringing Jews to establish an entity at the expense of the Palestinian people through the Balfour Declaration, especially That the instrument does not give the mandated countries the right to dispose of the lands they were mandated to over or in a manner contrary to the will of its people.

Al-Muftah explained that the instrument that relied on global Zionism to be the actual tool inside Palestine as if it were a shadow government acting on behalf of the British government was a major conspiracy not only against Palestine but against the entire nation.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Qais, Secretary-General of the Palestinian leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, indicated that reclaiming this anniversary is a reminder of a historical crime that led to the displacement of our people and the need to mobilize energies to correct this mistake.

He said that the launch of the contemporary revolution in 1960 was a qualitative leap in the Palestinian struggle that Syria has always supported, stressing that the last battle of the sword of Jerusalem is evidence that the Palestinian people are capable of resistance and inventing forms of confrontation with the enemy.

The lecture was attended by a number of representatives of Palestinian factions and organizations, as well as scientific and cultural events.
