Peter de Vries: Journalist from the Netherlands apparently died after the attack

The famous Dutch journalist Peter de Vries was shot in the street.

Now he has apparently succumbed to his injuries.

The well-known Dutch investigative journalist Peter R. de Vries died after the attack on him, according to media reports.

"Peter fought to the end, but he lost the fight," said his family in a message published by RTL on Thursday.

The 64-year-old was gunned down on the street in Amsterdam last week and was critically injured.
