State Attorney Amit Isman ruled last night (Wednesday) on a retrial of Roman Zadorov, 11 years after he was first convicted of the murder of Tair Rada. The retrial of the case - which has already reached the Supreme Court three times - means a return to the starting point. Due to the complexity and uniqueness of the trial, the judges will have to examine how it is conducted even before they convene for the fateful hearing itself.

Thair Rada, 13, was murdered at the Nofei Golan school in Katzrin on December 6, 2006. Almost four years later, the Nazareth District Court convicted Zadorov, a foreign resident living in Katzrin, of murdering the girl. Since then, however, the affair has continued to occupy the media and public opinion, so that despite the firm verdict - the judiciary has been discussing it again and again, leaving the conviction intact.

Following Zadorov's last appeal last year, Judge Hanan Meltzer ruled that a retrial should be held, in light of the opinion of an expert on defense who revolved around the issue of blood stains found in the toilet cubicle where the murder took place.

Following the decision, Isman ordered the establishment of a team of experienced attorneys, from different districts, who were not involved at any stage in the management of the Zadorov case.

The team was asked to review all the evidence in the case, and to re-examine the existing evidentiary infrastructure in the case, in order to recommend to Isman whether there is a reasonable chance of Zadorov's conviction.

Now that the investigation team has come to the conclusion that there is a reasonable chance of a re-conviction, the central question is how the trial will be conducted.

Due to the fact that the case went through a series of appeals, the judges Asa Kola, Danny Tzarfati and Tamar Nissim Shai will have to decide whether to conduct the trial from the beginning and re-examine the witnesses, or ask the parties to accept the previous rulings, and reduce the controversy to the new evidence , Adv. Yarom Halevi, to the Supreme Court. The

request for a retrial included expert opinions regarding the possibility of bloodshed from Rada's body hours after the murder and additional evidence, as well as allegations that Ola Kravchenko (AK) murdered Rada.

As part of the decision to hold a retrial in Zadorov, State Attorney Isman decided to close the case against Kravchenko out of innocence, so the scope of the dispute is reduced to forensic evidence.

In his decision last May, Judge Hanan Meltzer noted the issue of bloodshed on the heel on the toilet lid at the murder scene, as well as the presence of Rada's blood stain in the third toilet cubicle.

According to him, they are enough to order a retrial for Zadorov.

"In my view, the investigating court should dive into the depths of the issue," Meltzer wrote. Another possible issue for the convicts, or acquittal. "

Another issue that the judges will have to decide soon is Zadorov's imprisonment. Which is dangerous.
