Racing Club reported this Wednesday the death of
Nilda Cuqui Chiangaglini
, the life partner and wife of Alfio Basile, a symbol of the club.
Cuqui, who was also a fan of La Academia and had three children with the former soccer player and coach, died of a coronavirus picture that was aggravated by bilateral pneumonia.
She had been hospitalized for three weeks and suffered from a pre-existing illness.
Cuqui and Coco got married in 1967
, when Basile was a player for Racing de Juan José Pizzuti.
And they lived together in their historic Palermo home for more than 40 years.
Last month, Coco Basile had been admitted to a clinic in Barrio Norte after having suffered a picture of coronavirus.
However, he was able to overcome them without major complications.
"I am vaccinated, that helped me," he declared on television last week, in the run-up to the Copa América final.
Throughout this process, he was accompanied by Cuqui, his wife, and the couple's three children: Alfito, Natacha and Sabrina.
Racing Club deeply regrets the passing of Nilda "Cuqui" Chiangaglini, club fan and wife of @Alfio_Basile.
The institution accompanies Coco, his family and loved ones in this painful moment.
