In April 2019, a woman and her child, little Sophia, only 7 weeks old, nestled in her mother's baby carrier, were violently struck by a scooter and found themselves thrown to the ground. The vehicle, in violation, was traveling in the prohibited direction at the crossroads of rue Vernier and rue Galvani, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
“Fortunately, my wife is athletic and has withstood the power of the shock well
, remembers Arnaud Kielbasa, father of the child, who walked in front of the victims.

The couple then decided to take legal action against the city of Paris for not protecting its citizens, but their complaint was subsequently rejected.
