Hermann Gerschlauer presented himself full of energy at the general meeting of the Erdinger Senioren-Union.

The Eichenrieder was confirmed as district chairman.

Moosinning

- "I actually wanted to stop, but we had a year and a half of stagnation," said the district chairman of the Seniors' Union.

“And anyone who knows me knows that standing still is terrible for me, and that's why I'm doing another two years.” And so Gerschlauer was re-elected without a candidate and without a vote against.

At the annual general meeting of the district association in Moosinninger Oberwirt, Gerschlauer was relieved that a face-to-face event could be held again. 16 members came, some apologized. "You are afraid of Corona, I can understand it," said Gerschlauer. Due to the pandemic, his accountability report was “very meager” this time, said the district chairman. “Nevertheless, we did something.” The Seniors Union had discussions on the subject of hospital hygiene, and they fought for the volunteer card and a cheaper MVV price for seniors after this had been increased by 29 percent. There were also some video conferences, "but not only seniors had technical problems at them," he said with a laugh.

As for the upcoming federal election, Laschet said to the CDU candidate for Chancellor Laschet: "I hope he grows with his tasks." Gerschlauer also did not spare criticism of the outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel on the issues of nuclear phase-out, opening the borders and the state of the Bundeswehr : "It's a shame."

Member of the state parliament Ulrike Scharf, who acts as election supervisor, praised Gerschlauer: “You give the seniors a vote, a heartfelt thank you for your commitment.” Scharf was also happy about the opportunity “that we will finally meet again in person, because only digital politics to do is not our nature ”.

Due to the pandemic, it will be "a different election campaign as we are used to so far, but we will think of something how we can approach the people".

The elections went smoothly, there was only one change in the position of deputy.

Hans Wellers no longer took up the position, he is the new digital officer, his position was taken over by Cornelia Vogelfänger, who is now vice-president together with Arnold Kronseder.

In the end, the old and new chairman Gerschlauer said that recruiting members was particularly important to him, because: "We are actually the strongest group in the party, but we are the weakest represented."
