"Are you going through Pasteur?"

»« Cambronne, is it good?

“Early in the morning, some users who are about to take the“ M 6 ”bus in Montparnasse-Bienvenüe seem confused.

In fact, throughout the summer, there are no trains running between this station, the busiest on the line, and Trocadéro.

Work which will also concern the portion from Trocadéro to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, next week, from July 20 to 25 inclusive.

Manage the arrival of tourists

To avoid a change of itinerary for travelers, and continue to serve the various stations, the RATP has given itself the means.

Every 3 to 15 minutes, depending on the usual frequency of the metro line, a bus entitled "M 6" starts from Montparnasse-Bienvenüe towards Trocadéro.

Ditto the other way around.

It only stops near closed stations.

And that's not all, agents in green vests are there to inform users.

In all, 250 people guide travelers from the metro platforms to the bus stops.

RATP agents and service providers, some of whom were hired especially for the occasion.

“These are students, recruited on the basis of their language skills,” says Alain Teixeira, manager of the RATP Customer Service department.

Because, in addition to provincial vacationers, foreign travelers are more and more numerous in recent days.

In Montparnasse, Mouhamadou, 27, testifies: "Some tourists ask us how to get to the station, or even to the Bourdelle museum, just behind".

An operational line

In addition to the staff mobilized, signs indicate the route to follow to get to the 9 bus stops concerned. "How long do you take to make the trip?" »Asks a user, approaching the driver. "17 to 20 minutes", replies the latter. But beware of rush hour! In this case the journey time can be quickly extended from 10 to 15 minutes. The route of the line modeled on that of the metro can quickly be lined with traffic jams.

On the user side, the device seems to satisfy.

“I think it's well organized, the buses run regularly.

In addition, they come late at night!

», Reacts Stéphanie, who is waiting for her bus in Dupleix.

Place du Trocadéro, a user also welcomes the device, but suggests areas for improvement: "It would be easier for the bus to announce the stops".

It is also advisable to walk to Passy from Trocadéro towards Montparnasse, in order to avoid a long detour by bus.

Another alternative, for those who can move away from the initial route: bus 82, whose route is located slightly further north.

"Create a" green thread "for the person"

On the platform, these two agents guide users to indicate the substitute bus for line 6. Yoann Bourgin

“Exit 2 for the bus, direction Trocadéro! », Chants an agent at the microphone, on the platform of the temporary terminus in Montparnasse-Bienvenüe. A few meters away, Ms Collet and Ms Laroche, line 6 operations assistants, answered users' questions. “As a priority, we go to meet the person,” explains one of the agents. “It can happen that a traveler is lost, we reassure him. We also assist travelers when they do not know what to do with their luggage ”. RATP has been developing “Next Stop Paris” for 4 years, an application designed to simplify the stay of foreigners in the capital. Using her tablet, Christelle Collet is responsible for presenting the application to travelers so that they can better navigate.

The missions of the two agents go beyond information.

“We educate other agents, or providers, so that the traveler is guided from start to finish.

The idea is to create a “green thread” for the person, ”emphasizes Christelle, with reference to the color of the agents' vests.

Finally, they focus on solving accessibility problems: "This morning, for example, we accompanied a visually impaired person, for whom the journey can become complicated".

Across the Ile-de-France network, 5 RER, 4 metros, 3 trams and 3 transiliens are affected by summer work.

To welcome and guide users, a total of 1,800 people will be mobilized as soon as they arrive on the platform this summer, according to the RATP.
