The Max-Born-Gymnasium (MBG) dismissed 139 high school graduates with the award of certificates.

The celebration took place in three rounds in the multi-purpose hall in accordance with corona.

Germering

- With “The final countdown”, an upper-level string quartet amplified by an electric bass introduced the awarding of certificates.

Headmaster Robert Christoph would have chosen a slightly different genre as a musical introduction.

The album “Crisis.

What Crisis?

“Came into my head that the band Supertramp released in 1975.

The high school graduates are familiar with crises: "The crisis has you and us under control right up to the end."

Christoph had very high praise for the high school graduates: “You are an incredibly personable and committed class who have shaped our school life in many places.” It is therefore bitter irony that these students, of all people, were denied a number of trips and corona-related events.

The teachers could have learned a lot from the students, added Christoph: "Especially at the end, when the pandemic dominated everything, they showed an admirable calm, patience and reliability."

Upper level supervisor Karin Lehner congratulated the students who bravely mastered all the exams and achieved very good results again.

By that she doesn't just mean the A-1 high school graduates, but everyone who has tried to do their best.

According to Lehner, 51 of the 139 high school graduates achieved a degree with a one before the decimal point.

Five of them even achieved the dream grade of 1.0.

She is particularly pleased that several of these 1.0 students only switched to MBG after the 10th grade of secondary school.

District Administrator Thomas Karmasin and Mayor Andreas Haas congratulated the graduates in video clips. Haas also addressed the fact that because of Corona, the students had to show maturity much earlier than the years before them. In spite of everything, he advised young people: “Don't let yourself be put off. Go your own way. And if they stumble, they get up again. ”Haas also had one more wish:“ Please continue to get involved, for society, for Germering, for climate protection, for equality and for peace and freedom. ”Because that's not all Of course.

The chairman of the parents' council, Eva Kuchler, expressed great respect for the achievements of the high school graduates: "You can be extremely proud." In primary school and at the MBG, the high school graduates learned to swim. They would not have let themselves get down when the first wave in the water made it difficult to stay up in 2020. They also endured the second wave that pushed the students down with a lot of strength. They would have got through the third wave with the help of the mental coach parents.

The graduation speeches of the students were written by seven graduates together and then held in pairs at the individual celebrations: Nikos Georgalas, Marjyn Tabak, Annalena Ilic, Vincent Wechner, Meedha Khoora, Celina Cichon and Jandeh Ceesay. They reviewed the time at high school with all the changes and then of course inevitably ended up in the pandemic: "The culmination of every change was that we unexpectedly no longer had to go to school and could work from home with a wheat beer in the morning."

In the part of the distance lessons, the students felt very well supported by the directorate and the teachers. Nevertheless, they were scared: "We felt let down by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and Mr. Piazolo himself." In the end, they nevertheless drew a very good conclusion about their school career: "Hopefully everyone will keep their time at the MBG as something positive and beautiful in remembrance. Because you won't find such a good school family everywhere. "
