The CHP stated that the previous genetic analysis of case 11 952 (50-year-old man) was related to the genomes of the other four imported cases from Russia, including cases 11 947, 11 887, 11 926 and 11 938.

According to the epidemiological investigation conducted by the center, Case 11 952 worked as a porter at Hong Kong International Airport. Among the flights he handled during the incubation period, a confirmed case of 11 947 was found, involving a flight RL9933 on July 6. The crew arrived from Moscow.

Although Case 11 952 did not have direct contact with Case 11 947, he had worked in the cabin for several hours, during which several crew members who had not disembarked have stayed in the cabin.

The center believes that Case 11 952 was likely to have been infected by the crew members of the flight RL9933 who had been infected with new coronary pneumonia on July 6, so today the classification of Case 11 952 was revised from a local case of unknown origin to an imported case that is epidemiologically related.

After the revised case classification, a total of 28 cases were reported in the past 14 days (July 2-15), including 26 imported cases and two cases that were epidemiologically related to the imported cases.

Wear suitable protective equipment and strictly observe the regulations on wearing masks and maintaining hand hygiene when working in the cabin.
