The former Ruppaner Hof is currently a paradise for artists and cultural workers.

For a year, theater is played, art is created and music is made on the site in the Inning industrial estate.

Then the owner wants to pull up a building project.

A visit.

Inning

- There is a smell of paint in the air, coupled with a hint of horse manure. Hoof prints adorn the concrete floor, nameplates hang on the boxes - memories of former life on the Ruppaner-Hof in the Inningen industrial park. The 20,000 square meter site is now in the hands of art and culture. The former boxes serve as a fund for the theater group "Elle Kollektiv", the barn as a rehearsal room. The site will be made available for cultural and artistic groups for a year, after which the owner, Euroboden Architekturkultur, wants to build two building complexes for offices, crafts and studios (we reported).

"We want to liven up the place and make the best possible use of it during the planning of the new building," says Marietta Lehnig from Euroboden Architekturkultur.

"This is how the cooperation with the Munich Art Association came about."

Around 30 artists from Munich are currently living out their creativity on the farm.

"Many in the city have no space for a studio," says Gina Merz from the Kunstverein.

In Inning, the artists help each other and create joint projects.

A work immediately catches the eye.

Several artists worked on a stake around ten meters high.

“A reinterpretation of a maypole,” explains Merz.

A few meters further on in an annex made of faded wood, the children of Paolo Cassani's circus theater are rehearsing.

“Everything that is fun is tried out here,” he says.

With a group, all between the ages of seven and twelve, Cassani practices a little choreo with circus elements once a week.

Cassani has been working with his circus theater on the farm for three months. What is special about the community on the site: “This is where like-minded people come together. Everyone does something different, but you are still in contact with the others. ”Luis Lüps, director of the theater group“ Elle Kollektiv ”, is also enthusiastic about the atmosphere on the former horse farm. "Everyone has their own space, but somehow we're all together."

The theater group from Ammersee is particularly pleased about the opportunity to rehearse their new play "The Meditier" at the Ruppaner-Hof. “This is the first time that we don't have to rehearse the scenes outside,” says Lüps. The group has set up several sets in the former barn behind the horse stable. There's a trailer in one corner, a green board in the other, and a disco ball the size of an exercise ball hangs from the ceiling.

The 14 actors have been going through their texts and practicing scenes for four and a half weeks.

Today the "Elle Kolletiv" leaves the Ruppaner-Hof and continues to rehearse their new play in Schondorf on the site of the venue.

But the old barn does not remain empty.

"As soon as the theater group has moved out, the room will be converted into a concert hall," says Alexander Fischer, organizer of the cultural interim use.

His goal: to get as many groups and clubs as possible to the inning by the end of the year.

Upcoming dates

An open-air cinema will take place on Friday, July 30th, in the inner courtyard of the Ruppaner-Hof.
