In an open letter to the Archbishop's Ordinariate, all 16 parish councilors asked with their signature that the pavilion at the Catholic parish hall should remain standing.

Unfortunately, there is not enough living space in Münsing, especially small flats and apartments, writes Mayor Michael Grasl on behalf of the local council.

“We are all the more astonished that the ordinariate wants to hold on to the demolition of the apartment house with the two apartments without replacement.

Such a central location at the parish hall would be missing for the urgently needed staff - whether educators for the church kindergarten in Holzhausen or pastors, "said the town hall chief.

Apartment building has a strong social component

Grasl also deals with the site planning aspect: The pavilion forms a unit with the rectory and the new rectory with a kind of courtyard situation.

The two existing buildings are an ensemble that has grown for almost three decades, is perceived as a unit and has always complemented each other well.

The political community therefore also has a great interest in maintaining the pavilion, as it bears the material costs for the church kindergarten, for example.

Grasl: "Only in this way can youth and senior citizens work on site be guaranteed and this is the only way to attract staff in our high-price region." The apartment house therefore also has a strong social component.

Urgent request: stop the demolition of the building

From the point of view of the municipality, the parking spaces for this small building are easy to prove on their own property and could not be the reason for the demolition. The local council urges the ordinariate to refrain from demolishing the building after this short life. Many citizens could not understand such a decision. Grasl offers to mediate between the Church Foundation of Assumption and the Ordinariate. A viable solution would be “a positive signal if the living space that is demonstrably required is retained and the church also makes its contribution.”
