As of next Friday, all returnees from the UK, Cyprus, Turkey, Georgia, Uganda, Myanmar, Fiji, Panama, Cambodia, Kenya and Liberia will be required to isolate, the Ministry of Health said today (Friday) as part of the guidelines to combat corona spread. In addition, Spain and Kyrgyzstan will be on the list of countries at maximum risk, and flights to them will be banned.

Currently, the list of countries that require return in isolation includes the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Tunisia. The list of countries to which flights are banned until further notice includes Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, India, Mexico, Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan.

In light of the rise in morbidity, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will enter a debate this afternoon following the global rise in morbidity in the corona delta strain.

The discussion will be attended by ministers and representatives from the Ministries of Health, Defense, Homeland Security, Finance, Transportation and the Economy.

The Ministry of Health will recommend at the meeting to expand the softened green mark announced yesterday, and apply it to all closed spaces over 100 people.

The outline for activating the softened green sign at indoor events, dubbed by the Prime Minister's Office as the "happy note", was formulated in collaboration with representatives of the ballroom owners and is expected, if approved by the Corona Cabinet, to take effect next Wednesday - July 21. According to the agreed outline, entry to events defined as having a high chance of infection will be allowed for the vaccinated, recovering and having a negative test result, but it is not specified who will bear their cost. The number of participants in these events will not be limited, but the obligation to wear masks will apply, except during permitted activities such as drinking and eating. In addition, it was agreed that enforcement would be increased and that the step would be accompanied during public information.

It was decided on a series of cumulative conditions in order to define an event as having a chance of infection.

In addition to the main and natural condition - holding the event indoors - it was decided on additional criteria: over one hundred participants, a time-bound event, including enforcement and drinking, and it is expected to stand and move in a way that may create confusion between participants.

This definition includes weddings and celebrations, standing performances, parties and conferences - which meet the criteria.

The Ministry of Health is now seeking, as stated, to expand it further.

From today: a day of isolation for all returnees from abroad

From today, the isolation obligation applies to all returnees from abroad until a negative answer is received, while at the same time the isolation period for debtors has been shortened to one week.

Regulations approved by the Corona Cabinet require those entering the country from all border crossings to enter solitary confinement until a negative answer is given in the examination, including recovering and vaccinated.

The regulations come against the background of the eruption of the renewed corona and the entry of new variants into the country's borders.

According to the regulations, the answer to the test must reach the subject within 24 hours from the moment of landing, and if not - the subject is released from isolation.

At the same time, it was decided to shorten the isolation from 14 days to a week only, provided that a test is performed on the seventh day.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, 60% of those committed to isolation do not listen to guidelines in the home space and cause morbidity within the family.

The purpose of shortening the insulation is to ensure that more people maintain the insulation properly.

Within three weeks: the number of infections doubled 6 times

This is the highest figure since March.

Of the verified, 89 are Israelis who returned from abroad, and of these - 60 are vaccinated and six are recovering.
