1987 kilometers - roughly the distance from Dachau to Moscow - were the 294 participants in the third charity run after 2003 and 2001 at the Ignaz Taschner High School.

Converted into cash that was 22,364 euros, which now benefit the organization Interplast Germany eV.

Dachau - The idea: Each participant organizes sponsors who donate a predetermined amount for each round run on the TSV Dachau track.

With the ITG donation, a complete two-week assignment of six doctors and four nurses can be financed.

The medical team itself completely waives the fee, takes the entire annual vacation for this time and gives countless people, especially children, a new life.

“Most of the time we operate on girls.

They are often left sick by their families, ”said Prof. Dr.

Hajo Schneck, who came to Dachau on behalf of Interplast to hand over the check.

He thanked the students for the great commitment.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic and the associated quarantine requirements, the use of Interplast has been abruptly stopped in Asia, Africa and South America, among others. Instead, the association sponsored schools and orphanages and built oxygen systems. Schneck, anesthetist and member of Interplast Germany since 1990, hopes that the operations can be resumed next year or the year after next at the latest.

But how does a Dachau school manage to raise over 22,000 euros? This was made possible by the sports and Latin teacher Sabine Kinseher, who put the idea of “running for the life of others” into practice with her P-Seminar Sport, as headmaster Erwin Lenz emphasizes. “You were great,” Kinseher praised her seminar participants in the auditorium of the Ignaz-Taschner-Gymnasium in the presence of the runners, who not only received certificates for their hard work. The P-Seminar participants had organized a number of great prizes through family, friends and acquaintances for outstanding performance.

Melanie Heitz from Q11 had gathered 20 sponsors alone, who could donate an amount of their own choosing for each kilometer they ran.

The siblings Leonie and Benjamin Klein received a whopping 1325 euros from their sponsors, an absolute record this year.

The highest number of laps brought together Lennard Kausemann.

The high school graduate ran 20 laps, and that in bad weather.

In total, all participants ran a total of 3312 laps.

The classes with the highest participation were the 5b, 5d and 6b.

Sabine Kinseher also had the idea of “collecting” donations for people in developing countries at her previous schools.

The ITG's enthusiasm for the project has already manifested itself.

So the next fundraising run is sure to come.
