Dear readers,
It's been ten days since the summer holidays officially began, with their share of uncertainties. While a health threat called Delta hangs over the privileged destinations of the French in southern Europe, Spain and Portugal in the lead, some are starting to backtrack. Malta, which offered 200 € to tourists to encourage them to return to the archipelago, imposes a quarantine on the unvaccinated. A decision in line with the words of President Emmanuel Macron who, during his speech, established the obligation to be the holder of a health pass to board a train or a plane from August 1. There remains a reassuring prospect for disoriented holidaymakers: that of a French summer. It is the choice of 85% of our compatriots. After our Mediterranean getaway last week, heading today for the Atlantic coast. With its steep cliffs, sandy beaches bordered by pine forests and legendary waves, the west facade is far from over enchanting us.
ALL OUR INSPIRATIONS
From Concarneau to Pont-Aven, another face of Finistère
The translucent waters of the Glénan archipelago, off Concarneau.
Donnerbold / AdobeStock
Concentrated by penetrating landscapes, of unvarnished beauty, this piece of Brittany has everything to bewitch its visitors.
From Paul Gauguin to Paul Sérusier, including Maurice Denis and Émile Bernard, all have made Pont-Aven a favorite subject.
20 km to the west, Concarneau stands as an image of Épinal de la Cornouaille with its ramparts, its drawbridge and its clock tower with a sundial.
But the wonder of this little piece of Finistère is to be found offshore.
A string of deserted and paradisiacal islands, the Glénan archipelago has nothing to envy to the emerald-colored lagoons and the pristine beaches of the tropics.
Enough to wait until the next long haul.

From Bordeaux to Cap Ferret, seven gourmet restaurants on the Aquitaine coast
In this oyster-farming village in the Arcachon basin, facing the Île aux Oiseaux, Hoki and Matthieu line up tables and benches on the pontoon terrace.

Seen from the sky, the Aquitaine coast looks like a huge straight beach stretching from the mouth of the Gironde to the Basque Country.
Only the Arcachon basin breaks this alignment.
Culinary uses reflect the landscape, between sea, forests and vineyards.
Benefiting from an important resource in marine products, gastronomy is also influenced by the production of grands crus, mainly red wine, often associated with cooked meats.

The Basque Country with the family: fun and unexpected activities
In the Pignada forest, on the Hendaye ridges, discover an ideal environment to learn about mountain biking with electric assistance.
Alexis Delgado
Surely surfing has given the Basque Country an international reputation.
But the region is also full of unexpected activities to indulge in with the family.
Departing from Ascain, we get on our electric mountain bike to assault the foothills of the Pyrenees to admire sheep and pottoks, these Basque horses living in freedom.
On the ocean side, we learn about the Hawaiian canoe to fish for squid, a delicious little squid grilled a la plancha.
Or we embark on the descent of the Nive in a canoe, equipped with a wetsuit and paddles.
A rainy day ?
The opportunity to learn how to cook the best Basque cake in the world.
