Andrew Cuomo is expected to answer questions from investigators at the New York State Attorney General's Office, a sign that the investigation started four months ago could enter its final phase, according to the

New York Times,

citing sources close to the file. The lawyers entrusted with the investigation gathered the testimonies of several women accusing Andrew Cuomo, and collected emails, messages and other documents, the newspaper continued.

The Democratic governor, seen in 2020 as a hero in the fight against Covid-19, is today embroiled in a series of scandals and in the worst crisis of his political career. Since February, eight women have denounced Andrew Cuomo's inappropriate gestures and words, accusations he has denied. A former advisor, Lindsey Boylan, claimed in a February blog post that he harassed her while working for her administration from 2015 to 2018. She said Andrew Cuomo kissed her on the mouth of unsolicited way, had suggested that she play with him in

"strip poker"

and

"multiply the efforts to

touch

(him)

the back, the arms, the legs"

Another former health adviser, Charlotte Bennett, 25, said the 63-year-old governor made remarks to her in June 2020 that he was open to affair with women from twenty years old, asking him about his vision of such a difference in age.

If Andrew Cuomo never tried to touch her, she said that she understood that he

"wanted to sleep with

(her)

"

and that she

"felt horribly uncomfortable and scared"

.

He was also accused of hiding the extent of pandemic-related deaths in nursing homes and of having collaborators work on his book of memoirs on the pandemic, for which he received an unusual advance from $ 3.1 million and was expected to receive another two million by 2022. Called to resign by many Democrats earlier this year, Andrew Cuomo refused, dismissing all charges against him.
