The test center on the Tölzer Flinthöhe has been operated by the Aicher Group since the beginning of September.

The contracts expired this week.

The district office takes stock of the situation.

Bad Tölz - "The cooperation with the test center went smoothly," says District Administrator Josef Niedermaier. PCR tests have been offered in the drive-in station in the parking lot next to the ice rink since September 1, 2020, and rapid tests were added at the end of March 2021. A total of around 20,100 PCR tests and almost 5,000 rapid tests had been carried out there by the beginning of last week. About 100 of the latter were positive, and a PCR test was then due for them.

"After Whitsun in particular, the overall demand for the tests dropped sharply," reports the district office. In the last two weeks of June, for example, only 26 and 28 citizens per day made their way to the test drive-in for a PCR test. Two weeks before the Whitsun vacation, 76 people came per day, one week before the vacation 90 and in the first vacation week 92. Most of the PCR tests were recorded in mid-December 2020, when an average of 160 people were tested daily. The demand for rapid tests has also recently decreased. In May the number was between 70 and 85 rapid tests per day. The demand has now dropped to 60.

Rapid tests have not been offered on the Flinthöhe since Thursday - when the health department took over the operation.

Mainly because there are numerous other providers for this in the whole district.

PCR-everyone-tests are carried out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A form that citizens can use to register is linked to www.lra-toelz.de/coronatest-toelwor.

The reduction in times does not mean “that we will no longer have an eye on the issue,” says the head of the health department, Dr.

Stephan Gebrande.

"We are closely monitoring how the general infection situation is developing in order to be able to react if necessary and to be able to build up capacities again."
