Syrian-Jordanian talks to simplify trade exchange procedures between the two countries

The Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym, discussed with the President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Nael Raja Al-Kabariti, the procedures for trade exchange, the movement of passengers and goods, the movement of trucks and transit between Syria and Jordan, and the role of businessmen and members of the chambers of commerce in developing and activating relations and agreements between the two countries.

The talks touched on the necessity of facilitating the movement of trucks and refrigerators, avoiding their long stops at the crossings, which would cause losses to all, removing obstacles and difficulties facing their work, in addition to discussing matters related to wages and fees, mechanisms for activating the Syrian-Jordanian free zone, and flexibility in unloading goods between the two sides.

Minister Khuzaym stressed Syria's keenness to provide various forms of support in revitalizing economic and trade relations in the interest of the two peoples, especially with regard to linking with Syrian ports, transit and returning air transport, explaining the importance of continuing communication and meetings between businessmen and owners of economic actors and increasing trade exchange, which contributes to covering the needs of Markets of various commodities and materials.

In turn, Kabariti stressed that revitalizing the transport sector between the two countries is an economic lever that benefits their peoples, noting the existing relations between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the keenness of Jordanian businessmen to develop and strengthen economic relations with the Syrian side and their desire to establish investment projects and solve the difficulties facing the transport movement in its various forms.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Transport for Land and Air Transport Affairs, the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, the President of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce, and a number of directors concerned with the ministry.
