An American policeman was killed and three others were injured in a shooting in a town in the southern state of Texas last night.
Lubbock County Police said in a post on its Facebook page, according to AFP, that one of its units intervened after a report was received about an armed man in the city of Liveland. As a result, four of its members were wounded, two of them in critical condition.
In turn, the Lubbock Avalanche newspaper reported that the commander of the rapid response forces in the city police died of his injuries.
The United States is witnessing repeated killings and shootings in light of laws that legalize the bearing of arms as an individual right, and the prevalence of violence in American society.
