Multiple sports, cultural, artistic and intellectual activities, health education sessions and literary competitions included in 55 educational youth camps in the governorates, with the participation of more than 11,000 young men and women from basic and secondary education students, under the supervision of specialized trainers from the cadres of the Youth Organization and the Ministry of Education.

According to the head of the Office of Educational and Sports Activities in the Damascus branch of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Majd Al-Kurdi, the summer camps contribute to developing the capabilities and talents of young people and enhancing the concept of citizenship and national belonging through the development of social and national values ​​and the active positive contribution to society as it encourages voluntary and productive work.

In a statement to SANA, Al-Kurdi indicated that the Damascus camps were divided into 4 areas, at a rate of one for each area, which are sub-camps that started on the 12th of this July and will continue until the 20th of it and include about 1,000 young men and women who carry out productive activities such as repairing school walls or painting walls. The distinguished ones are chosen to have the opportunity to participate in the central camps.

According to Al-Kurdi, the camps include sports activities such as basketball, football, chess, table tennis, badminton, art activities, photography workshops, and training in folk arts with the aim of providing young people with life skills and other activities that include health education and first aid.

Nawras Mustafa, Secretary of the Maidan Youth Association, explained that the activities and events in the camp include artistic activities such as singing, folk dance and folklore, in addition to games that help in brain development and drawing competitions, pointing out that the trainers previously followed an integrated training course at the Trade Union Institute in Dimas within an integrated program.

The Secretary of the Abbasid Association and a trainer in the camp, Noor Ibrahim, indicated that work is being done through activities to strengthen citizenship and national belonging, as well as developing communication skills, enhancing self-confidence, how to work in a cooperative team spirit, and the rules and norms of respect, noting the response and great demand from students to the camp.

For her part, the student Bara’a Abu Khaled from the Aisha Bint Othman Unit pointed out that they were able to carry out useful activities in the camp, such as the nursing course that helps them to deal with health and emergency cases, in addition to the “Be the hero of your novel” workshop, indicating that they benefited from the camp by strengthening the leadership personality and investing time in a way Optimized and learned many useful social skills.

Shabiba Hana Al-Habash from the Muhammad Bahjat Al-Bitar Unit confirmed that the most important courses followed by the first aid and character strengthening course, as the camp includes many group and sports activities, wishing the event continued for a longer time.

The student, Sidra Fawaz Al-Baik, from the ninth grade, pointed out that the camp helped her get out of the stressful atmosphere in which she was during the study time, calling on all her colleagues to participate in these activities because of their health, personal and social benefits.
