Donald Trump still claims he was betrayed in the Arizona presidential election. The AP news agency queried all counties in the US state - and found hardly any irregularities.

Contrary to what Donald Trump claims, there is no evidence of significant election fraud in the US state of Arizona.

This is shown by research by the Associated Press news agency in all counties in the state.

Accordingly, the authorities have identified only 182 incidents that were classified as serious enough that they need further investigation.

So far, according to the AP, charges have only been made in four cases of alleged electoral fraud, including two Democratic voters and two Republican voters.

Nobody has been convicted so far.

Most of the identified cases concern voters who have cast one vote for a deceased relative or people who have tried to cast two votes.

The news agency had asked all 15 counties of Arizona for the research, 11 of them had therefore registered no potential irregularities at all.

The vast majority of cases of potential electoral fraud come from Pima County, where cases are always referred to the prosecutor for review if there are only vague indications.

In the case of the 2020 election, there were 151 cases of potential electoral fraud, according to the AP, mostly attempts to cast two votes.

In none of the cases that are being investigated did this succeed.

Joe Biden was ahead in Arizona with 10,000 votes

A total of 3.4 million votes were cast in Arizona in the US presidential election last year.

Joe Biden won the state by 10,400 votes ahead of Donald Trump.

Theoretically, the authorities could encounter further cases of potential election fraud, but this should not change the overall result.

The AP research supports the assessments of numerous experts, courts and local politicians.

"Election officials across the state are keen to ensure the integrity of our elections and the public's trust in them," said Arizona State Secretary Katie Hobbs, a Democrat.

Republicans like Governor Doug Ducey had also repeatedly pointed out that the election had not been falsified.

Donald Trump does not want to accept his defeat in the presidential election despite the overwhelming burden of proof.

The Republican-dominated Senate has been investigating Maricopa County for months.

Only one case of potential election fraud has been identified in the county to date.

It was about a man who could have cast his vote in another state.

Trump is now touring the US again - and has made the lie of electoral fraud a kind of leitmotif for the Republicans.

He also repeated it over and over again in one of his recent appearances in Ohio.
