Some are so
scenographic
that they seem like film sets capable of transferring us to other times and latitudes, others were
set with hundreds of objects and eloquent details.
For this reason, beyond the quality of their gastronomy and cocktails (which some of them can boast of), the
"instagrammable" bars
of Buenos Aires
are the perfect target for generations for whom an experience is not such but is portray and share on that social network.
This list - which does not pretend to be exhaustive - accounts for
the amount of this type of proposal that has proliferated in recent years.
From a New York subway to French Indochina at the end of the 19th century, from the Alcatraz prison in the days of Prohibition to the eighties universe of the "fichines", from a Polynesian beach to a drugstore of the 30s:
today in Buenos Aires Aires fit many possible universes.
Some of the criteria we took into account to put together this list were its
furniture, lighting, decoration, ranges of colors and textures
, and its popularity on social networks.
Anyone who wants to test how many likes their selfie gets in any of them should bear in mind that in many cases it is necessary to
book several days in advance.
9 "instagrammable" bars in Buenos Aires
1- Uptown & The Bronx
Uptown, a New York subway in Buenos Aires.
Since its inauguration in 2017, it
has been the quintessential stage bar.
Thousands of people have already descended its stairs with graffiti walls, crossed its turnstiles and took
the obligatory photo in the station and in the subway car
that works as a preamble to its bar.
The Manson Jar, which is a pitcher of Absolut, strawberry, and cucumber soda is one of the most popular drinks.
The menu was created by chef Dante Liporace.

Although he is one of the pioneers in this concept of bars, many instagramers still do not have their photo there and are forced to reserve up to a week in advance to fulfill the dream of the underground selfie.
Arevalo 2030, Palermo. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Instagram: @ uptown.ba
2- The Hole
The hole recreates the times of Prohibition in the United States.
Within the
hidden bars
("hidden" behind almost blind facades) this prison-inspired one stands out.
Like all
speakeasy, it
refers to the times of Prohibition, the mafia, smuggling and
the Alcatraz jail
.
That prison where they spent characters like A Capone
was recreated in these coordinates.
The photo in the "cells" of The Hole, the most posted.
The
photographic spots
are various:
there are cells
scattered over two floors,
an old car
, a set that simulates the door of a bank and of course,
no one escapes from this jail without the required medical record photo.
The
cocktail bar is signature
and the bartenders are dressed in the typical orange jumpsuits used by inmates in the United States.
Armenia 1743, Palermo. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 8pm to 11pm. Instagram: @thehole_bar.
3- Trade Sky Bar
In Trade Sky Bar the most desired photo is with the panorama in the background.
In this case
the height and the privileged location of the bar are the key to the much desired photo.
Who doesn't want a selfie with a panoramic postcard of Buenos Aires?
Trade Sky bar is 88 meters above the ground, on the top three floors of the historic Comega building.
There it is possible to take a selfie with a
unique background of the Buenos Aires skyline highlighted even by international media.
The view of the Buenos Aires skyline from Trade Sky bar was highlighted by international media.
Depending on the angle chosen on its open terrace,
you can take Puerto Madero, the CCK, the Torre de Los Ingleses, the Obelisk, the banking area, the river and more.
The level of the bar and the kitchen of this rooftop are at the height of the context.
Av. Corrientes y Alem, Centro. Open Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Instagram: @ trade.skyba
4- Naples Bar
Old cars and motorcycles, among other XL objects, in Napoles Bar.
As if it were a movie set, this space
impresses with its dimensions and its diversity of antiques and collectibles
that make it unique.
Vintage cars and motorcycles, chandeliers, XL furniture, merry-go-round horses
: a motley baroque style that encourages dozens of selfies.
Naples impresses with its dimensions and the amount of objects it houses.
The bar is classic and the gastronomy of Italian inspiration.
Pasta is the heart of the proposal: the Sorrentinos made from sweet pepper dough stuffed with bondiola and the mozzarella, tomato and basil panzotti are two of the hits.
It is located
on the Boulevard Caseros
- photogenic coordinate par excellence - which is well worth
visiting in search of other
instagrammable
urban spots
.
Avenida Caseros 449, San Telmo. Open from Monday to Sunday, from 8.30 am to 11 pm. Instagram: @napolesbar.
5- Apothecary
Apothecary, a retro drugstore.
In an old drugstore from the 30s
, this bar works in which the scenery and the menu achieve a perfect alchemy.
The elements with which
the "concoctions" (cocktails)
are prepared
could be part of an inventory of a pharmacy from the beginning of the last century
.
Some have names in tune with the general concept like "Experiment # 9," Smoked Penicillin, or Therapeutic Spritz.
Eloquent details of the Apothecary concept.
Everything comes together for
a selfie as elegant as it is anachronistic:
busts and portraits, all kinds of bottles, lamps and furniture from the Belle Epoque.
A very photogenic sepia palette.
Excellent place for hunters of eloquent details.
Honduras 5288. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 5 pm to 11 pm. Instagram: @boticariobar.
6- Oh no Lulu
Polynesian exuberance in Oh no Lulu.
Photo: Andrés D'Elia
Palm trees, lush greenery, rattan furniture, Polynesian idols:
Oh no Lulu's setting is an ideal parenthesis in this winter city setting and also a
perfect tropical photo set.
Even the lighting creates a special atmosphere.
At Oh no Lulu it is summer all year round.
Very good
tiki cocktails
(with rums, fruits and eye-catching decorations) and Hawaiian-inspired dishes such as “Poké” (bowl with salmon, rice and vegetables or rice, tofu, avocado and seaweed, among other options).
Also classics like marinated ribs and hamburger.
It is also suitable for small instagramers, teetotalers and "designated drivers": they make mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks).
Araoz 1019. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 6 pm to 11 pm. Instagram: @ohnolulutikibar.
7- CoChinChina Bar
Oriental and European vintage elegance at CoChinChina Bar.
The setting of the new bar of the consecrated bartender Inés De Los Santos transports us
to the atmosphere of the novel The Lover by Marguerite Duras
: an atmosphere full of
vintage elegance
achieved through dozens of objects (posters, leaf-shaped lamps, tables of marble) that play with the
countercultures of the East and Europe
.
In CoChinChina there is a large mural that recreates the rice terraces of Vietnam and the roof of the semi-covered deck is filled with bouquets of incense.
CoChinChina's bagged fish, the scene of the obligatory selfie.
On the way to the toilet there is an art installation that emulates
hundreds of nylon bags with water and little orange fish inside.
He is in front of a large mirror so it
is "the spot" for the selfie.
The
quality of the signature cocktails is guaranteed by the prestige of its owner
.
The same goes for gastronomy in the hands of Máximo López May.
Armenia 1540, Palermo. Open Tuesday from 5 pm to 11 pm and Wednesday to Sunday from 12:30 pm to 11 pm. Instagram: @ cochinchina.bar
8- Bar El Destello
Retro scenography for those nostalgic for the "fichines" of the 80s in El Destello.
Photo: Martín Bonetto.
Because not only millennials and centennials use Instagram but also those of "generation Z" who have already passed 40, the El Destello bar takes them back to their childhood or adolescence.
The gamers' predecessors, those who in the 80s and 90s were
habitually enthusiastic “fichines” love this retro setting.
The nostalgic selfie
can be with some of the many
arcade machines
(there are flippers and arcades, with the legendary Pac Man included, and they all work) or with period icons like an
ET doll
.
The neon-lit ceiling is another appreciated hit.

The concept of the place is reflected even in the letter:
have a drink called Nave (Aperol, vodka and passion fruit) in tribute to a national arcade
.
The menu is varied with Mexican and Vietnamese options, among others, and includes vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Gascón 1460, Palermo. Open Tuesday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Instagram: @bareldestello
9- Bondi Stop Bar
Bondi Stop Bar, one of the new "instagrammable" bars
The collective also has its own thematic space thanks to this brewery and burger joint that
opened its doors four months ago in Palermo.
Instead of chairs, on the tables are the typical seats of the most popular of our means of transport.
The classic spouts of the bondi organize the spaces and hold
the hanging grips that many take to take their selfie.

Yellow and black and large fonts predominate in the setting.
The bar and the head of the bondi with windows
that overlook Buenos Aires icons such as the Planetarium
are some of its most used photographic spots.
Av. Cnel. Niceto Vega 5976, Palermo. Open Monday and Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Instagram: @ bondistop.bar
