A court chapel belonged to the Großselmerhof before.

This was located on the corner of Frauenstrasse / Kapellenweg and had to be demolished around 50 years ago due to road construction work and its poor building fabric.

When it was built cannot be determined today, especially since there are no public entries for the chapel.

Again and again, the Deutinger family had therefore considered building a chapel again and looking at different types of construction.

Ultimately, the Deutinger family announced that they opted for the somewhat more modern style of the planner Max Joseph Pezold.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Monday in 1999, and the shell was finally finished in autumn.

With cousin Franz Buchner, the client was supported by a professional foreman during the execution.

There were other helpers and generous donors among relatives and friends.

Companies from Langenpreising and the surrounding area helped with donations in kind or offered very favorable conditions.

However, neither a garage nor a “model house” was built, as was even speculated at the time during Carnival, but a “meeting place for everyone.

The court chapel of the Holy Cross was inaugurated in May 2000 by Pastor Peter Dermendjin as part of a court festival. “The chapel blends in very well with the townscape of Langenpreising - especially because of its simplicity”, praised Mayor Rudolf Weiß for the successful new building. "May the chapel be destined to give us and our community strength and help."

The chapel got its name "Zum Heiligen Kreuz" due to a motif plaque that was in the old chapel, on which there is a silver cross. Saint Nepomuk and Saint Catherine are in the chapel, which is always open during the day and offers the opportunity to linger. The two figures were already in the old chapel. In the meantime, St. Nepomuk had a place in the parish church, both figures were restored and found a dignified place in the new chapel.

The Bohemian priest and martyr Johannes Nepomuk was arrested, tortured and finally drowned from the Charles Bridge in the Vltava River due to clashes between the Prague King Wenceslaus and the Prague Archbishop Jenzenstein. Since then he has not only been regarded as the bridge saint, but also as the patron saint of confessors, priests, boatmen, raftsmen and millers, of bridges, of the confessional secret, against water hazards and for secrecy. He was in 1729 by Pope Benedict XIII. canonized. The feast day of St. John Nepomuk is May 16.

Saint Catherine of Alexandria is one of the most famous Catholic saints.

She is one of the 14 helpers in need and is considered to be a helper for ailments of the tongue and language difficulties.

Saint Catherine is the patron saint of schools, the philosophical faculties, seamstresses and seamstresses.

Her memorial day is November 25th.
