The Anzing Horticultural Association celebrated its 125th anniversary - in adverse weather conditions.

But the Gartler stood firm and were rewarded.

Anzing

- It's hard to believe: Before the festive service on Sunday, July 18, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Anzing Horticultural Association, it had rained heavily.

So much so that one could have found understanding if the ceremony with the consecration of the brand new club standard would have been relocated to the parish church without further ado.

But the organizers remained undeterred and courageous.

And this optimism was rewarded.

During the ecumenical ceremony it remained dry for everyone;

and not just for those who were able to enjoy the new grandstand roofing in the stadium for the first time.

After the service, however, a shower immediately hit Anzing again.

But that was short-lived, so that the board of the festival committee, Peter Moossmann, could still look halfway satisfied.

If it hadn't been for the rainy Saturday on which the plant market in the sports center could only take place with considerable restrictions.

The President of the State Parliament, Ilse Aigner, opens the celebration

The three-day Gartler anniversary party opened on Friday with a visit and a speech from Ilse Aigner, President of the Bavarian State Parliament.

The CSU politician signed the community's golden book on the occasion.

Observed and accompanied by the three mayors, deputy mayor Magdalena Föstl, Member of the State Parliament Thomas Huber, Member of the Parliament Andreas Lenz and Gartler boss Danka Löbel.

For a long time on Sunday it seemed that everything that had been planned for months could fall into the water.

But when Pastor Bernhard Waldherr welcomed the well over 200 visitors from the stage, which was specially set up on the lawn and decorated with green, the rain locks were closed.

Pastor sees Anzing as a natural paradise

His evangelical colleague Karl-Heinz Fuchs took over the sermon for the day.

One could have guessed that he put Psalm 104 at the center of his remarks.

This is the one who deals with creation.

Fuchs thanked those who, then and now, are committed and committed to making Anzing something of a natural paradise.

The many flowers and the fears that arise not least from diligent gardening are a sign of pausing and being grateful for all that we call creation.

We humans, too, continued Fuchs, could figuratively look like flowers and fruits and, for our part, bring beauty into nature.

This is expressed in a responsible commitment to the environment and nature.

The current events in West Germany, with floods of unprecedented proportions, show how enormous the tasks are that we all face together.

The current events, which in the meantime also affected parts of Bavaria, were not really the focus of the sermon, but they were in one or the other intercession.

Pastor Waldherr pointed out that the day's collection would be used specifically for the victims of the current natural disasters in the country.

If you want to get involved here, says Waldherr, you can contact the Catholic rectory in Anzing directly during these days.

After a short parade over half a stadium round and a joint lunch in the beer garden of the Forsthof, the Gartler anniversary party concluded in the afternoon with a few speeches and honors to deserving members.
