Last but not least, the volunteers on the southeastern edge of Bavaria were challenged: The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) Berchtesgadener Land reported on several dramatic missions.
In a serious accident, workers from the Technical Relief Organization (THW) were seriously injured.

On the B319 in Berchtesgaden, according to the information, a special vehicle of the THW got into the opposite lane on a sloping stretch, collided with a VW Golf, overturned and remained on the roof.
Four people were injured, two of them seriously, as the BRK Berchtesgadener Land announced.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
The police apparently thought the brakes could overheat.
According to the information, the THW vehicle was loaded with sandbags.
The 25-year-old passenger suffered such serious injuries that he had to be flown to a Salzburg clinic in a helicopter.
The driver was injured moderately, the couple on vacation on board the VW got away with minor injuries - although his car was completely destroyed.
The three accident victims came to surrounding clinics.

Emergency services of the BRK from Ainring, the city of Freilassing, Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden and Teisendorf have been on duty since Saturday evening - among other things as reinforcement for regular rescuers, since parts of the districts in the inner district of Berchtesgaden are only partly due to roads that are no longer passable long detours were achievable.
The volunteers of the BRK water guards are also challenged.
On Saturday evening, for example, occupants of a car that had been driven off the Königsseer Ache had to be rescued on the B305.
Meanwhile, the helpers also provide important services in caring for the uninjured flood victims in the Berchtesgadener Land district: It is said that "several hundred" evacuees need to be looked after, fed, accommodated and given psychological care.

The forces also had to take care of stranded climbers in the crisis area. Since shipping across the Königssee was suspended due to the flooding, the way back was blocked for the athletes. The Berchtesgaden water rescue service made an urgent appeal to those affected: "The hikers should definitely call us and in these conditions not try to come back even over the impassable east bank or the exposed Rinnkendlsteig", explained their technical director, Martin Planegger.
The police say they also have to deal with onlookers and selfie hunters. On Sunday, the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South and the district office of Berchtesgadener Land said in a joint statement that onlookers repeatedly go into danger areas or close to the water that has overflowed. On this matter too, the authorities made an urgent appeal to the people of the region: “Stay away from the banks of the waters as a matter of urgency! Do not go into the danger areas and obstruct the rescue workers! "
BRK district readiness leader Florian Halter thanked the volunteer forces on Sunday - also in view of stressful impressions such as emergencies with two dead. For Berchtesgaden and the surrounding area, however, there was still no all-clear: the German weather service also warned of continuous rain for Sunday evening. The destruction of the Königssee ice arena near Schönau caused horror in the sports scene. (
