Tartous-Sana
Members of the Tartous Fire Brigade, in cooperation with the Forestry Department of the Governorate Agriculture Directorate and the Syrian Oil Transport Company, put out today a fire that broke out in agricultural lands in the Anazah area in Baniyas countryside.
The commander of the Tartous Fire Brigade, Colonel Samir Shamma, told SANA reporter that the fire was completely controlled and is currently in the monitoring phase, noting the cooperation of the people and the local community in the extinguishing process.
Shamma called on citizens not to follow the burning method to get rid of the remnants of dry weeds in their agricultural lands in order to avoid the outbreak of fires in them, and to clean the lands and sides of the roads and get rid of the remnants in safe ways such as landfilling.
He pointed out the need to call the toll-free numbers 188 and 113 in the event of fires to report them as soon as possible.
