A 28-year-old police officer from Buenos Aires was arrested in Mar del Plata after they denounced that he
fired into the air
with his regulation weapon.
The officer was
drunk
and "out of his mind" threatened a neighbor.
He was disaffected from the Force.
The detainee was identified as
Maximiliano Gastón Canales Albarran
and worked at the
15th police station
, which is a few meters from Provincial Route 11 in the Camet Park area.
It all started this Sunday morning, when residents of Calabria at 7,900, in the
Pueyrredón neighborhood
, to the southwest of the city, reported that they heard the detonations.
As reported through a call to 911, the officer began shooting into the air with his weapon "
in a total state of drunkenness
."

According to the complaint, one of the neighbors "tried to persuade him to calm down and put down the gun," but the policeman,
"beside himself,"
pointed directly at him: the man had to take refuge in his house.
The drunk officer's response was to go "pound on the door and windows of the man who wanted to dissuade him."
Given this, "other neighbors began to intervene: they
managed to take the weapon from him
and called 911," said a police source consulted by the

.
When the colleagues of the drunken policeman from the 16th Police Station arrived at the scene, they took Canales Albarran into custody and
seized the weapon
with which he fired into the air and threatened the neighbor.

Charged
The prosecutor Andrea Gómez, head of the Functional Unit of Instruction No. 4 of Mar del Plata, that Canales Albarran be transferred to the
Penal Unit 44 of Batán.
Prosecutor Gómes charged him with the crimes of "
aggravated threats and aggravated weapon abuse
."
In addition, as soon as they became aware of what happened in the General Audit Office of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Security, it was ordered that Canales Albarran be
immediately
disaffected
from the Force.
