Under the title “Sham Jasmine blooms again,” the Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Damascus Governorate, launched this evening the activities of the forty-first session of the International Flower Show in Tishreen Park in Damascus.

A number of international and local producers, cut flower producers, flower production companies, companies dealing with equipment for nurseries, beekeepers, rose products, medicinal and aromatic plant products will participate in the exhibition, which will continue until August 3, and the number of participating pavilions will reach 60 pavilions and 17 green areas.

In his speech during the opening ceremony between the Minister of Tourism in the caretaker government, Muhammad Rami Radwan Martini, that the exhibition was launched for the first time in 1973, and the ministry is keen this year, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Damascus Governorate, to develop it and expand the base of participation in it and diversify its paragraphs to suit the interests of different social segments and age groups Especially the family and children, based on the ministry's role and duty to encourage the popular domestic tourism sector.

The Minister of Tourism pointed out that the exhibition this year includes many artistic activities and cinematic performances in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the General Organization for Cinema, dance shows, entertainment programs, plays for children, art concerts, and a drawing and sculpture forum with the participation of a group of young artists with the aim of consolidating environmental awareness and developing citizens' interest in flowers and their uses as a symbol of Symbols of peace and human communication.

A number of participants considered that the exhibition was an opportunity to introduce the types of ornamental plants and flowers that exist in the Syrian environment, which are characterized by richness and diversity, as Ahmed Yassin Trab pointed out that he participates in the exhibition periodically to present various products of ornamental plants and plants, expressing his optimism that the exhibition will witness a great turnout, coinciding with the Eid holiday. Al-Adha.

From Tartous, engineer Yasser participates to present a group of types of home ornamental plants known as saloon plants, pointing out that he is keen to participate in the flower exhibition sessions because through each participation he achieves positive results, especially the promotion and identification of nurseries owners and those interested in this field from different governorates.

Noureddine Sharbaji displays ornamental trees and ornamental and forestry plants, explaining that he participated in the exhibition in several sessions with the aim of expanding the definition of seedlings products and highlighting the world of flowers for which Syria is famous and of interest to various people, pointing out that the sale during the exhibition period will be with special offers.

The craftsman Nabil Seif El-Din is keen to be present in the flower exhibition to display pottery products directly in front of the visitors of the exhibition to shed light on this ancient craft.

In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Tourism stated that the exhibition this year constitutes an environmental, agricultural and gardening event and will be an event for internal popular tourism. It is dedicated to the family and children in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Damascus Governorate, pointing out that the new this year is the sculpture forum with the participation of a group of artists, pointing to the participation of the Damascene Rose in the exhibition as one of The most important intangible heritage products registered globally on the UNESCO list.

In turn, the Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Hassan Qatna, said in a similar statement, “We are always interested in flowers, roses and nurseries, which provide great job opportunities for a number of producers. They produce and export and have large quantities and capabilities for the production of ornamental plants, and therefore it is a productive and export opportunity.” The year the participation of a wide range of handicrafts for rural women, children, creatives and owners of small and medium enterprises.

For his part, the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Adel Al-Olabi, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the exhibition is an opportunity to display national products, introduce them to visitors, and learn about everything new in the world of green spaces, flowers, ornamental, medicinal and aromatic plants, and related products, in addition to learning about landscaping methods, plants and flowers. It is an outlet for visitors to spend quality time amidst greenery, flowers, plants and shrubs, and to follow social and artistic activities.

The opening included a concert by artist Mohammed Khairy from Aleppo, in addition to documentaries and promotions.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Information in the caretaker government, Imad Sarah, Akram Al-Ajlani, Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly, and a number of council members.
