The heavy rain is also noticeable in the Miesbach district.
The levels are rising - and the peak is still to come.
A flood warning is active.
Miesbach
- On Sunday, July 18, at 10:58 a.m., the NINA disaster warning app will also hit the Miesbach district.
"Risk of flooding" is the message from the integrated control center in Rosenheim.
The city of Miesbach is named as the affected area, especially the areas of Schopfgraben, Kleinthal, Thalerbach and Fellerbach.
An increase in the level of the Schlierach can be expected over the course of Sunday.
Local excesses are possible.
"The residents are asked to take suitable protective measures."
Flood warning for Miesbach
The flood news service (HND) Bavaria also warns: "Since yesterday, heavy rainfall has fallen in the Miesbach district, more is to be expected." In the morning, the level of the Leitzach near Perennials exceeded reporting level one, the Schlierach in Miesbach will soon be according to the HND also reach reporting level one.
The water levels are also rising at Tegernsee and Schliersee.
Here too, reporting level one is to be expected, according to the HND.
Storm: Heavy rain, especially in the south of the district
It is also interesting to take a look at the amount of precipitation. The values of the HND show that the heavy rain is mainly concentrated on the immediate edge of the Alps. At the Oberen Firstalm and in Kreuth-Glashütte, by Sunday noon, more than 100 liters per square meter had accumulated. In Miesbach it was only 30 liters. Nevertheless, as of now, the risk of flooding is greatest in the district town, because the Schlierach can only absorb the water masses from the mountains with difficulty. District fire chief Anton Riblinger expects the level to peak in the course of the evening. Reporting level two can be achieved.
But even during the day, minor effects of the storm were felt in the district.
In Bayrischzell the Tiroler Straße was briefly under water, at Spitzingsee the road next to the Wurzhütte.
Individual cellars were also threatened with overflowing, and in Neuhaus a brook overran.
No worse has happened so far, reports Riblinger.
In view of the scenes that are taking place in the Berchtesgaden district, the Miesbach district again seems to be spared more dramatic effects.
But the situation is not over yet.
The severe weather warning from the German Weather Service (DWD) for the southern district of Miesbach is valid until midnight on Monday.
