The Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia arrested two people who had committed dozens of theft crimes during previous years in the governorate's countryside.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that as a result of the follow-up and monitoring of suspects and criminal suspects, the Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia was able to arrest two people, one of whom has several requests and various research broadcasts, one of which is the crime of kidnapping with the intention of requesting a “financial ransom.”
She explained that the two arrested confessed to committing dozens of thefts to several homes and farms during previous years, jointly with others, by taking off, breaking, climbing, and evading in the villages of "Beit Al-Atika, Wadi Al-Janain, Salourin, Al-Hami, and Al-Qubaisiya", and disposing of some of the stolen items in the market of Jableh city and Friday market in Lattakia and sharing the price. Some of the stolen items have been recovered and handed over to their owners.
The ministry indicated that the stolen items included “various agricultural equipment, drip irrigation networks, water submersibles from wells, water pumps, cables, electric wires, gas cylinders, cellular devices, screens, washing machines, refrigerators, sums of money, clothing, and others,” noting that investigations are still ongoing and research is continuing, and the arrested persons will be presented to the judiciary in assets to obtain the penalty. fair.
