The Ministry of Interior confirmed, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that as a result of the follow-up and monitoring of suspects and criminal suspects, the Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia was able to arrest two people, one of whom has several requests and various research broadcasts, one of which is the crime of kidnapping with the intention of requesting a “financial ransom.”

She explained that the two arrested confessed to committing dozens of thefts to several homes and farms during previous years, jointly with others, by taking off, breaking, climbing, and evading in the villages of "Beit Al-Atika, Wadi Al-Janain, Salourin, Al-Hami, and Al-Qubaisiya", and disposing of some of the stolen items in the market of Jableh city and Friday market in Lattakia and sharing the price.
