Four people were hit by gunfire outside a stadium where a baseball game was being held in Washington on Saturday, police said, adding that there was no longer any danger.

The shooting was heard as thousands of spectators watched a game between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres, which was quickly put on hold.
Two AFP journalists who were present at the match for their part heard about ten shots.
The spectators were asked to leave the scene, which part of them did, and the sportsmen also left the field in a hurry.
Four people were killed, police said on Twitter.
Two of them presented to the hospital with gunshot wounds, she said without giving details of the fate of the other two.

The Washington Post quoting police said a man was injured in the leg and a woman in the back, and their lives were not in danger.
The match will resume on Sunday.
The United States has a long and painful history of deadly gun violence on the streets, in schools, in workplaces and even in shopping malls.
