The Ministry of Education issued its new organizational structure based on what was decided at the Administrative Reform Conference, which was held between 20-30 June.
The new organizational structure, as explained by the Director of Administrative Development in the Ministry, Samer Al-Khatib, to SANA’s delegate, consists of 16 central directorates distributed among 10 specialized technical directorates, 6 supportive administrative and technical directorates, 62.5 percent for technical directorates and 37.5 percent for support, while the total number of departments in the new structure is 62.
In comparison with the previous organizational structure of the ministry, Al-Khatib stated that the ministry consisted of 25 central directorates distributed between 14 specialized technical directorates and 11 supportive administrative and technical directorates, with a technical directorate rate of 56 percent and support directorates by 44 percent, with a total number of departments of 76.
Al-Khatib indicated that the number of minister’s assistants in the new structure has been reduced from three to two after studying and analyzing the operational processes in the directorates of the central administration and the basic technical tasks of each directorate and calculating the workload in each directorate and the number of workers needed to carry out these basic technical tasks and operational processes, pointing to the study and analysis of the two resource maps. The Administrative Reform Conference, which was held last month under the slogan “Effective Management towards Dynamic Institutions,” recommended issuing job structures for ministries, including numerical staffing, defining qualitative jobs, canceling and updating old job names, forming work teams to prepare a model guide for the internal system and job structures, and reviewing job categories to match the labor market.
